ImPact Concussion Testing is a program in which kids take an online test that measures brain function. We administer an initial test prior to activity to establish a baseline for your child. This important first step is essential to understanding your child’s foundation before any injuries occur. The pre-screening information is completely confidential and takes into account:
Part of the baseline assessment is balance testing. Since balance is often affected by a concussion, we use a balance board to assess the athlete’s balance prior to injury. The results are then compared to a post-injury balance test to help determine concussion severity.
In the event of a concussion, i’move evaluates the extent of the athlete’s symptoms using tests to measure post-injury brain function, then compares the results to the baseline test. This provides valuable information to determine the best path to allow your child to heal and return to sports safely. Immediate results from the screening offer key insights for recommendations of treatment, from our own assistance to referrals for medical examination. Follow-up testing is done after symptoms resolve to ensure the athlete is recovered and it is safe to return to sports Your middle-schooler deserves the same care and protection as older athletes do – i’move is here for you!
