Do I need a Doctors Referral for Physical Therapy?

No, You don’t need a doctor’s note or approval to start working through your pain. i’move experts are ready and waiting to diagnose and help you wherever you are on your recovery journey.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing that allows you to move freely

Can I go to Physical Therapy if I see Chiropractor?

Yes, you certainly can!

Is Physical Therapy Painful?

The primary goal of Physical Therapy is to lessen pain and improve function. Only in rare situations does the “no pain, no gain” rule apply.

How much does Physical Therapy cost?/Who Pays for Physical Therapy?

We partner with most insurance companies. Please call us and we will fill you in on cost based on your individual situation. Don’t worry, its way more affordable than you would expect!

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Be sure to bring the paperwork that we emailed to you, your insurance card, prescription for Physical Therapy (if you have one) and yourself!

How long will my appointment last?

Most appointments range from 30-40 minutes and the average treatment duration is less than 10 visits.

What is a Pain Assessment?

A Pain Assessment is a 30 minute one on one session with a clinician that is essential for correctly diagnosing an issue and determining a treatment plan that doesn’t just take care of the symptoms, but also takes care of what’s causing them, eliminating the pain as well as its source. At the conclusion of the pain assessment, one of the following recommendations will be given:

  • Proceeding with physical therapy and instructions on how to get a referral or schedule an initial evaluation
  • Following up with your doctor or a specialist to address a specific issue
  • Exercises to try on your own at home and follow up with i’move as needed

How much do the exercise classes cost?

We offer a monthly membership for $99.00 per month. You can also attend classes as a non-member for a drop-in rate of $15.00 per class. Discounts apply for Heroes – police, firefighter, EMA, military personnel and veterans (50% off). Young professionals under the age of 28 can become a member for $59.99 per month. We also offer Family Discounts and Contract Membership options for 3, 6 and 12 months with greater discounts for the longer contracts. Visit our Fitness page for full details.

Do you have Occupational Therapists (OTs)?

i’move does not employ occupational therapists.

Do you have a certified hand specialist?

No, i’move does not have a certified hand specialist. We do, however, have several experienced physical therapists with years of experience with many hand conditions.

Do you have a massage therapist?

i’move does not have a massage therapist on staff. However, our therapists are trained in a variety of manual (hands on) and deep tissue massage techniques to address your pain and functional goals.

Are you open Saturday?

We are not typically open on Saturday. Occasionally, a physical therapist will see existing patients on a Saturday to get them in.

Do you take my insurance?

We participate with most major insurances and many lesser know insurances. Please call us at 616-847-1280 x22 if you would like to ask about a specific insurance company.

Will you bill my insurance?

Yes, we will bill your insurance. We also give you an estimate of your per visit costs at the Initial Evaluation based on information from a complimentary benefits verification with your insurance company.

Is there paperwork?

Yes, i’move has four forms that need to be filled out. Those can be filled out and submitted online here. Please note that each of the four forms must be submitted individually, and you should receive a confirmation email that we have received each form.

What credit cards do you take?

i’move accepts all major credit cards. We do not, at this time, accept Care Credit.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, i’move offers very generous payment plans. We request that you pay your outstanding balance within 6-12 months, but will work with you to create a payment plan that works best for your financial needs. The most important aspect is that you make a payment of some kind EACH month.
