Jeff received his Bachelors of Science in Health Promotion and Rehabilitation from Central Michigan University in 1998 and his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University in 2001. Upon graduation, he began work at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and continued his education receiving his Masters of Business Administration degree in 2006 and his Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Science in 2012, both from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Along the way, he became an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT).
Jeff describes his love of movement this way, “As a child I was nearly incapable of sitting still – a quality that I’m not sure that my parents truly appreciated. This soon translated into a love of sports and then later into a love of distance running. Now I have grown into an appreciation of frequent, purposeful, daily movement. Being sedentary negatively affects me mentally – maybe even more than it does physically.”
The back of Jeff’s business card reads i’m remodeling. He chose this statement because he considers part of his job as remodeling human connective tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments and pain fibers) every day at work. “I’m remodeling attitudes towards the benefits of regular purposeful and therapeutic activity. And I happen to also be remodeling my home.”
