He went on to complete a residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at Gratiot Hospital in Alma, MI and was named a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists as a result. He received a second manual therapy certification (Certified Integrated Manual Therapist) through Great Lakes Seminars.
Marty has served as Reimbursement Director with the Michigan Physical Therapy Association, and he teaches manual therapy continuing education courses for other therapists around the country. He has taught over 2,500 students and professionals over the last 15 years on how the body works and how i’move treats pain and disability. Marty was named Distinguished Physical Therapy Alumni by CMU in 2012.
Marty chose “i’m balancing” on his business cards as finding balance in life is his greatest struggle. Helping to achieve balance in his patients is his quest. Balancing the mechanics between neighboring joints, balancing soft tissues within the patterns of motions that occur, and striving to balance his patients’ desires with their abilities.
