Mike was born and raised in Grand Haven and graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School. He received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from Ferris State University where he also played football, and then went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University. Since graduating he has completed the Fellowship in Applied Functional Science program as well as Functional Soft Tissue Transformation through the Gray Institute. He is a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and recently passed his practical examination to become a Certified Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapist (COMT). Mike now resides in Rockford with his wife, Amy, and their four young children.
Mike has had a strong passion for sports and exercise his entire life. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and he also owns and teaches at Rogue River CrossFit. His clinical interests include sports medicine and the integration of manual therapy with functional exercise and training.
The back of his business cards read “i’m serving” because it his mission to serve and bless the lives of others through manual interventions, movement training, and education.
